First Grade I Can Read Club

Kids — For all First Graders--You are invited to join the I CAN READ CLUB. Choose a book from the library shelves and read a page to a Kids’ Library staff member. You are in! Have your picture taken so that we can hang it on our I CAN READ CLUB tree and sign your name in the big I CAN READ CLUB book. You will also receive a bookmark and a book.

Eating Healthy in a Processed World
Monday, September 8 6:30 p.m.
Adults — Hidden toxins, misleading marketing and highly processed foods have obesity rates soaring. Certified Health Coach Dina Wisniewski (Institute of Integrative Nutrition) will discuss how to eat healthy in this processed world so you can reclaim your energy and restore your health. No registration required.
Kids' Movie Night

Kids — This Disney Nature movie follows an Alaskan bear family as its young cubs are taught life's most important lessons. Rated G. All ages; children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required. Free refreshments served.
Thursday. September 11 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Adults — Come join other writers to discuss your work. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month in the Library Board Room. No registration required. Open to adults and high school students.
New Life for Old Bags
Saturday, September 13 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Adults — Help make sleeping mats for the homeless. Volunteers will meet at the library on the 2nd Saturday of every month to make “plarn” (discarded plastic shopping bags cut into strips for crocheting). Volunteers are also needed to crochet mats. Movie Night at the Library
Monday, September 15 6:30 p.m.
Adults — A fascinating and often funny documentary of a group of very young golfers and their families from around the world who've gathered in an annual kids' tournament. Whether you're a golf fan or not, it will put a smile on your face. Rated PG. 2013.
Mondays: September 15, 22, 29 & October 6 10:30 a.m. - 11:10 a.m.
Kids — For independent 3-5 year olds without an adult. Features books, music, and a simple craft. Parents must remain in the Kids' Library during storytime. Call 630-552-2025 to register.
