First Grade I Can Read Club
Starts September 1st   
Kids — First Graders are invited to join the I CAN READ CLUB, beginning September 1st and continuing through the school year. Just read a page from a book to a staff member and you are in! We’ll take your picture and hang it on our club tree. After you sign your name in the big club book you’ll receive a bookmark and a free book to keep.

Drop-In Job Search and Résumé Help

Adults — Come to the library for one-on-one assistance. An Illinois workNet representative will be available to answer your job search questions and provide résumé assistance.

Adults — For both experienced and new genealogy researchers. No registration required.

All About Scholarships
Monday, October 19    7:00 p.m.
Adults — Learn where to look for college scholarships and how to make your application shine. The basics of a scholarship application are included with tips from successful applicants. Presented by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. No registration required.

Pizza & Pages
Tuesday, October 20    4:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Kids — For grades 6-8. We'll all read the same book before the meeting, talk about it, and have some pizza! Call 630-552-2025 to register.

Wednesday Night Book Group
Wednesday, October 21    7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Adults — ONE SUMMER by Bill Bryson will be discussed. THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PIE SOCIETY by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows will be available at the Check-Out Desk. No registration required. Newcomers are welcome at any time.

Writers' Group
Thursday, October 22    6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Adults — Come join other writers to discuss your work. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month in the Library Board Room. No registration required. Open to adults and high school students.

Kids — Wear a crazy hat for some Alice in Wonderland fun. For independent students in K-3rd grade only. Parents and younger siblings may wait in the Kids' Library during the program. Call 630-552-2025 to register.

Letters Home: A Southern Soldier Remembers
Monday, October 26    6:30 p.m.
Adults — Rich and Pat Healy, as Confederate soldier Larkin Moon and his wife, share through letters his experiences from 1862 to 1865. Time for questions will follow. Donations to benefit the library appreciated.
