1,000 Books before Kindergarten
Sign up now!   
Kids — Any child (including babies) who has not yet started kindergarten can join the program. Just stop by the Kids' Library Desk to register and get your reading log. Each time you read 100 books to your child bring your log back to have your picture taken for our reading wall. Then keep reading! One thousand books may seem like a lot, but if you read just one book a night together you'll meet your goal in less than 3 years. If you read 3 books a night you'll reach your goal in just one year!


Me & My Grown-Up Storytime
Mondays: September 12, 19, 26 & October 3    6:00 p.m. - 6:40 p.m.
Kids — For 3 and 4 year-olds with their grown-up. This transitional storytime is perfect for the little one who's not ready for independent storytime. Grown-ups will stay in the room and actively participate in the program with their child. Features simple stories, rhymes, movement activities, songs, and art experiences. Independent Storytime for 3's, 4's, and 5's
Mondays: September 12, 19, 26 & October 3    10:30 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. OR 1:00 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.
Kids — For independent 3-5 year-olds, without an adult. Featues simple stories, music, movement activities, and a simple craft. Parents must remain in the Kids' Library during storytime. Call 630-552-2025 to register.

Rhyme Time
Wednesdays: September 14, 21, 28 & October 5    10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. OR 11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. OR 6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Kids — For babies to age 3 accompanied by an adult. This lap sit storytime features action rhymes, finger plays, songs, movement activities, a simple story, and parent-child reading time. Active adult participation is an integral part of this program. Call 630-552-2025 to register.


Rhyme Time
Thursdays: September 15, 22, 29 & October 6    10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. OR 11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

Coloring for Adults and Teens
Thursday, September 29    6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Adults and Teens — Treat yourself to some free time to color, enjoy some snacks, and socialize. Coloring pages designed especially for adults as well as colored pencils will be provided. Open to adults and high school students. No registration required.


"Bring Your Own Laptop” Computer Class – Windows 7
Monday, October 3    6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Adults — If you have a laptop with Windows 7 and would like to learn how to use it, this beginners class is for you. Be sure to bring your laptop to the class. Registration required. Call 630-552-2030 or stop by the library to register.


Knit and Crochet Group
Thursday, October 6    10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Adults — This informal group works on their own projects, discusses types and colors of yarns, and helps each other with new or tricky patterns. They love to watch each other's projects develop. Participants bring their own supplies. They invite you to stop by and "yarn" awhile. No registration required.
