Knit and Crochet Group

Adults — This informal group works on their own projects, discusses types and colors of yarns, and helps each other with new or tricky patterns. They love to watch each other's projects develop. Participants bring their own supplies. They invite you to stop by and "yarn" awhile. No registration required.


Drop-In Job Search and Résumé Help
Thursday, March 16    2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Adults — Need assistance exploring job opportunities online or does your résumé need enhancing? Come to the library for one-on-one assistance. An Illinois WorkNet Representative will be available to answer your job search questions and provide résumé assistance. Location: Study Room B.


One-On-One Genealogy Research Assistance
Friday, March 17    10:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Adults — Just getting started on a family history project or looking for help with a genealogy "brick wall'? Call 630-552-2030, stop by the library, or email jvalentine@planolibrary.info to reserve a one-hour help session. Not meant to replace paid genealogical research assistance, this free program offers one-on-one help with your genealogical or local history research. Location: Study Room B.


Service Dogs and Therapy Dogs: Making Lives Better
Saturday, March 18    10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Adults, Teens and Kids — This two-part program begins with local author Amy Chally, accompanied by her service dog, Portland. She will discuss her life and her new book, Making Independence Happen, One Paw at a Time. They will be followed by Jan Lauwers from the Fox Valley Therapy Dog Club who will talk about the club’s work. This program is for adults and students 5th grade & up. Location: Meeting Room.


KenGen Genealogy Group
Saturday, March 18    1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Adults — Both experienced and new genealogy researchers will enjoy the KenGen Genealogy Group sessions. Location: Library Board Room.


Messy Munchkins
Monday, March 20    10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. OR 6:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Kids — Little ones can squish and smush their way to the benefits of messy play with us. Things to touch, smell, see, hear, and lots of other sensory experiences will be available. This is a child-directed program, enjoy as many of the activities as they'd like and stay for as little as 10 minutes or the full 45 minutes. Come dressed for fun. For children 0-5, with a grown-up. Older siblings may wait in the Kids' Library during the program. Call 630-552-2025 to register.


Pizza & Pages
Tuesday, March 21    4:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Kids — For grades 3-5. We'll all read the same book before the meeting, talk about it, and have some pizza! Call 630-552-2025 to register.


Legos at the Library
Wednesday, March 22    6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Kids — What can you create? We’ll provide the Legos® so please bring your imagination! All ages, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.

Adults and Teens — Come join other writers to discuss your work. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month in the Library Board Room. No registration required. Open to adults and high school students.
