Sensory Storytime

Kids — Open to all, but designed for children ages 3-6 with autism or sensory processing disorders. Features books, music, and movement activities. All abilities welcome with an adult caregiver. Call 630-552-2025 to register.

New Life for Old Bags
Saturday, March 12    10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Adults — Help making sleeping mats for the homeless. Volunteers will meet at the library on the 2nd Saturday of every month to make "plarn" (discarded plastic shopping bags cut into strips for crocheting). Volunteers are also needed to crochet mats at home. Donated plastic bags for the project can be dropped off at the library. For more information, contact Ceil Carey at or 708-846-1704.

World War II Posters – The Homefront Campaign

Adults — Our library’s historic collection of World War II posters are the focus of Dr. Timothy Draper’s discussion of the strategies used to rally public support for the war. This extensive collection of posters provides a glimpse of wartime life on the homefront. No registration required.

Pizza & Pages

Drop-In Job Search and Résumé Help

Adults — Come to the library for one-on-one assistance. An Illinois workNet representative will be available to answer your job search questions and provide résumé assistance.

KenGen Genealogy Group

Movie Musical

Adults — This Rodgers and Hammerstein musical of the classic fairy-tale, Cinderella, stars Whitney Houston, Bernadette Peters, Jason Alexander and Brandy Norwood. Rated G. 1997. Refreshments served.

Construction Fun
Wednesday, March 23    6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Kids — Join us as we figure out how to build tall, strong towers. We'll be building with different materials (marshmallows and gum drops) each time. You'll be able to take home your completed towers. For independent students in grades K-4. Parents and younger siblings may wait in the Kids' Library during the program. Call 630-552-2025 to register.

Kids' Movie

Kids — Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob are recruited by Scarlet Overkill, a super-villain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb, hatches a plot to take over the world. Rated PG. All ages, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Free refreshments served.
