Music & Movement
Tuesday, July 26    10:30 am. - 11:15 a.m.
Kids — Join us for some of our favorite music and movement activities. Kids will get to use simple musical instruments, play with a parachute, and more. For children 0-5 only, with a grown-up. Older siblings may wait in the Kids' Library during the program. Registration is required and can be done in person or by called 630-552-2025. Limit: 30.


Dog Days of Summer
Wednesday, July 27    6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Kids — Come sit with a certified therapy dog and practice reading aloud. Bring a book along or we can provide books for you. When you sign up you’ll register for a 15-minute time slot. For independent students entering grades 1-9 only. Parents and younger siblings may wait in the Kids’ Library during the program. Registration is required and can be done in person or by calling 630-552-2025.


Writers' Group
Thursday, July 28    6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Adults and Teens — Come join other writers to discuss your work. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month in the Library Board Room. No registration required. Open to adults and high school students.


Kids' Movie
Thursday, July 28    1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Kids — Free movie for kids. Your favorite fur balls, The Chipmunks, hit the road for an all-new, music-filled adventure when Alvin, Simon and Theodore race to Miami on a mission to keep their family together. Rated PG. All ages, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Free refreshments served. No registration required. Attendance is limited to the first 80 people.


Legos at the Library
Thursday, August 4    6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Kids — What can you create? We’ll provide the Legos® so please bring your imagination! All ages, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.


Pizza & Pages
Tuesday, August 9    4:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Kids — For students entering grades 6-9. We'll all read the same book before the meeting, talk about it, and have some pizza! Call 630-552-2025 to register.

Sensory Storytime
Saturday, August 13    10:30 am. - 11:00 a.m.
Kids — Open to all, but designed for children ages 3-6 with autism or sensory processing disorders. Features books, music, and movement activities. All abilities welcome with an adult caregiver. Call 630-552-2025 to register.


New Life for Old Bags
Saturday, August 13    10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Adults — Help making sleeping mats for the homeless. Volunteers will meet at the library on the 2nd Saturday of every month to make "plarn" (discarded plastic shopping bags cut into strips for crocheting). Volunteers are also needed to crochet mats at home. Donated plastic bags for the project can be dropped off at the library.
