Teen Movie

Kids & Teens — Free movie targeted to teens, but open to all ages. The Rebel Alliance makes a risky move to steal the plans for the Death Star, setting up the epic saga to follow. Rated PG-13. Free refreshments served.


Decorate & Design
Tuesday, July 18    6:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Kids — Use markers to decorate a craft project. Choices will include flower pots, small decorative wooden birdhouses, cars, wind chimes, or lizards. Limit: 32. For independent students entering grades 1-9 only. Parents and younger siblings may wait in the Kids’ Library during the program. Call 630-552-2025 to register.

Wednesday Night Book Group
Wednesday, July 19    7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Adults — Get together with other readers for an interesting discussion. "When God Winks at You" by Squire Rushnell will be discussed. The book for August , "Maisie Dobbs" by Jacqueline Winspear will be available at the Check-Out Desk. No registration required. Newcomers are welcome any time.


Free Movie for Kids
Thursday, July 20    1:00 p.m. - 2:40 p.m.
Kids — Free movie for kids. The friendly but forgetful blue tang fish, Dory, begins a search for her long-lost parents, and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way. Rated PG. All ages, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Free refreshments served. No registration required. Attendance is limited to the first 80 people.


Knit and Crochet Group
Thursday, July 20    10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Adults — This informal group works on their own projects, discusses types and colors of yarns, and helps each other with new or tricky patterns. They love to watch each other's projects develop. Participants bring their own supplies. They invite you to stop by and "yarn" awhile. No registration required.


Drop-In Job Search and Résumé Help
Thursday, July 20    2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Adults — An Illinois WorkNet representative will be available to answer your job search questions and provide résumé assistance. Location: Study Room B.


Dog Days of Summer
Saturday, July 22    10:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Kids — Come sit with a certified therapy dog and practice reading aloud. Bring a book along or choose one of ours. When you sign up you’ll register for a 15-minute time slot. For independent students entering grades 1-9 only. Parents and younger siblings may wait in the Kids’ Library during the program. Call 630-552-2025 to register.

Kids — Join us for some of our favorite music and movement activities. Kids will get to use simple musical instruments, play with a parachute, and more. Be prepared to move and groove!
