Art & Music Fusion

Kids — Find your inner artist! Have fun creating paintings, writing song lyrics, and playing musical instruments. For ages 8 and up. Registration is required and can be done in person or by calling 630-552-2025. Limit: 16.

Kids' Movie
Thursday, July 9    1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Kids — Quvenzhané Wallis stars as Annie, a happy foster kid who's also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York. Rated PG. All ages, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Free refreshments served.

Writers' Group
Thursday, July 9    6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Adults — Come join other writers to discuss your work. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month in the Library Board Room. No registration required. Open to adults and high school students.

New Life for Old Bags
Saturday, July 11    10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Adults — Help making sleeping mats for the homeless. Volunteers will meet at the library on the 2nd Saturday of every month to make "plarn" (discarded plastic shopping bags cut into strips for crocheting). Volunteers are also needed to crochet mats at home. Donated plastic bags for the project can be dropped off at the library. For more information, contact Ceil Carey at or 708-846-1704.

Teen Movie

Teens — The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. Rated PG-13. Refreshments served.

Wednesday Night Book Group

Adults — WENCH by Dolan Perkins Valdez will be discussed. PROOF OF HEAVEN by Eban Alexander will be available at the Check-Out Desk. No registration required. Newcomers are welcome at any time.

Kids — A madcap fairy tale musical of a fanciful forest turned upside down. Rated PG. All ages, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Free refreshments served.

Drop-In Job Search and Résumé Help
Thursday, July 16    2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Adults — Come to the library for one-on-one assistance. An Illinois workNet representative will be available to answer your job search questions and provide résumé assistance.

Saturday, July 18    1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Adults — For both experienced and new genealogy researchers. No registration required.

Teen Movie

Teens — With humanity facing extinction from a terrifying new threat, it's up to the Autobots to save Earth. They'll need new allies, including inventor Cade (Mark Wahlberg) and the Dinobots! Rated PG-13. Refreshments served.
