Wednesday Night Book Group
Wednesday, October 18    7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Adults — Get together with other readers for an interesting discussion. "The Traitor's Wife" by Allison Pataki will be discussed. The book for November, "The Poisoner's Handbook" by Deborah Blum, will be available at the Check-Out Desk. No registration required. Newcomers are welcome any time.


Knit and Crochet Group
Thursday, October 19    10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Adults — This informal group works on their own projects, discusses types and colors of yarns, and helps each other with new or tricky patterns. They love to watch each other's projects develop. Participants bring their own supplies. They invite you to stop by and "yarn" awhile. No registration required.


Drop-In Job Search and Résumé Help
Thursday, October 19    2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Adults — An Illinois WorkNet representative will be available to answer your job search questions and provide résumé assistance. Location: Study Room B.


Rock Painting — Family Event
Saturday, October 21    10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
Adults, Teens, Kids — Join us for rock painting, in collaboration with “Plano Area Rocks”. Paint and brushes will be provided. Bring your own rocks to paint, then you can hide the rocks around town and choose if you would like to post clues on the Plano Area Rocks Facebook page for others to find them. Registration required. Planning for Life’s Surprises

Adults — Whether you're a pre-retiree, retiree, homeowner, or business owner, you need to know about retirement tax savings, planning ahead for nursing home costs, and reduced taxes and debt in retirement. Independent Storytime for 3's, 4's, and 5's
Mondays: October 23, 30 & November 6, 13    10:30 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. OR 1:00 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.
Kids — For independent 3-5 year-olds, without an adult. Features simple stories, music, movement activities, and a simple craft. Parents must remain in the Kids' Library during storytime. Call 630-552-2025 to register.


Me & My Grown-Up Storytime
Tuesdays: October 24, 31 & November 7, 14    10:30 a.m. - 11:10 a.m.
Kids — For 3 and 4 year-olds with their grown-up (no younger siblings allowed). This transitional storytime is perfect for the little one who's not ready for independent storytime. Grown-ups will stay in the room and actively participate in the program with their child. Features simple stories, rhymes, movement activities, songs, and art experiences. Independent Storytime for 4's & 5's
Tuesdays: October 24, 31 & November 7, 14    1:00 p.m. - 1:40 p.m. OR 6:30 p.m. - 7:10 p.m.

Rhyme Time

Kids — For babies to age 3 accompanied by an adult. This lap sit storytime features action rhymes, finger plays, songs, movement activities, a simple story, and parent-child reading time. Active adult participation is an integral part of this program. Call 630-552-2025 to register.
