New Life for Old Bags
Saturday, August 13 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Adults — Help making sleeping mats for the homeless. Volunteers will meet at the library on the 2nd Saturday of every month to make "plarn" (discarded plastic shopping bags cut into strips for crocheting). Volunteers are also needed to crochet mats at home. Donated plastic bags for the project can be dropped off at the library. Coloring for Adults
Monday, August 15 6:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Adults — Coloring isn't just for kids; it's a relaxing activity for adults! Come treat yourself to some free time to color, enjoy some snacks, and socialize. Coloring pages designed especially for adults as well as colored pencils will be provided. No registration required.
Wednesday Night Book Group

Adults — Get together with other readers for an interesting discussion. The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore will be discussed. The book for September, Still Life by Louise Penny, will be available at the Check-Out Desk. No registration required. Newcomers are welcome any time.

Adults — Come to the library for one-on-one assistance. An Illinois workNet representative will be available to answer your job search questions and provide résumé assistance.
Smallville SUPERFEST Book Sale
Friday, August 19 - Saturday, August 27
Adults — The Friends of the Library Book Sale will be held in the meeting room during regular library hours. On August 27th all items will be sold for $4.00 a bag (bags are provided) and the sale will close at 2:00 p.m. All VHS tapes & audio cassettes will be given away on the last day of the sale.
KenGen Genealogy Group

Adults — Are you researching your family tree or hoping to begin? Both experienced and new genealogy researchers will enjoy the KenGen Genealogy Group sessions.

Adults and Teens — Come join other writers to discuss your work. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month in the Library Board Room. No registration required. Open to adults and high school students.
