Local History

These World War II posters are part of the library’s collection.  During the war, posters like these were mailed to libraries, colleges, and other public places to be displayed.  They were one of the strategies used to rally public support for the war.  The posters seen here, depicting war bonds, book burning, victory gardens, and the message “Don’t Talk”, are themes many will remember as part of wartime life on the home front.
